I did this thread a while back. It got some replies but some of the player classes didnt match others wanted criteria. So here it is again with new class names and purposes. Post what class you are and what marker you use. (You can be more than one class).

Infantry/Grunt

Assault-The basic fighter of the team. You move about the field operating as a simple fire and flank kind of guy. You work with groups of others who serve the same class as you. Toe to toe combat is your way of doing things.

Supply guy-Much like Assault you fight on the frontlines. But you are generous enough to lend some extra paint to those in need. You rove around the field asking "anyone need some paint?"

Specialist/Recon

Mercenary-As soon as the ref yells "GAME START!" your team doesnt see you again. You figure that working alone saves you the trouble of pulling team-mates out of the fire. Just you, your marker, and the opposing force.

Scout-You work in the field of finding enemies and alerting your team. Your role is extremely inportant during big games, because without it... the enemy would swarm you and your team!!

Sniper-As a sniper you have learned the art of patience. You sit in complete silence and wait to pick off anyone curious enough to wonder into your crosshairs.

Covert-You dont need to snipe. You just love the thrill of sneaking up on the enemy before engaging them.

Decoy/Charging

Rogue-You charge the enemy at full speed. The enemy barely has time to change their white underpants to brown before you barrel tag them.

Decoy-You draw fire while other team members take the enemy down. This means you must work with others. That is unless you like getting shot for no reason.


Commanding/Leading

Commander-You move along side others but tell them what maneuvers they should use to take down the opposition. This means your teamates know how to keep them selves alive but need further leadership in order to fight effectively.

Leader-Teamates naturally follow your every move. You dont know why. But you have weight on your shoulders to keep the stooges behind you in the game.

Equipment Operatives

Multi gun guy-You have two markers at all times. You never know when you will need a back-up.

M203/Shower shell/Grenade guy-You use things like shower shells and paint grenades to fry your opponents. They exit their bunkers with guns in the air and their shirts a different color than before.

Cheaters/New guys

Coward runner-You run away at the first sight of enemies.
Time to step up your game.
Coward-You see them charging but you stand firm. You feel yourself get sick, but youre brave enough to stay where your at and fight.

Zombie-You have been hit fare and square. But you decide to wipe off the splatter of paint and continue. You are a disgrace.

I've been asked to scout out the other side alone and I've lead epic battles. I've reffed, played medic and I've done battle with 'rules lawyers'.

I don't "limit" myself to any particular genre or classification and in fact, play them all.

I'm all and none of the above. I just play the game.

Have to agree with Druid, I think if your not playing all of those styles your not playing as effective as you could be.

I honestly cant pinpoint just one, two or even three of those to my style.

i have been changing my tactics to this order
covert followed by shower shells/decoy(grenades are decoys) then assult and finally rogue.
and thats my basic tactic

Depends on what field im playing on. either Assault, Covert or Rogue depending on the lay out, how much paint i have and my mood.

same here, ive done pretty much any role that could be thought up and yes I too have done some reffing my self, and even dealt with the "rule lawyers" too...wonder what types you dealt with druid...were they the player type or ref kind...ive had my share of both...

I think we need to add another class. Zombie Hunter, for those of us who spot a zombie, get a ref's attention, and then proceed to dye the Zombies shirt a nice florescent color.

I think Druid stole the words from my keyboard, although I am a little late to this thread, lol.

But I do prefer to provide the Specialist category of roles. My 98 setup doesn't quite allow me to be running full bore all the time so going my own pace solo is nice, while my 98 really likes to longball!

A lot of times though, I do find myself leading a small group of 3-4 while another team mate leads another group and we work together that way.
