I try to start out as a scout/sniper, but after about 30 seconds the role changes. 30 seconds later, it changes again. I end up adapting my role to suit the game and the way it's unfolding at the moment.

I used to be a "heavy gunner" but have gotten more conservative. I am pretty agressive I try to cover flanks more or less since that what everyone is trying to do and either slow them down to where my team can get shooting positions on them or take them off their original plan and get them to move toward the middle.

I zig-zag through the field and usually end up in the middle. I can get nice shots and slow the other team down so my team can flank them. You can say I'm like the decoy. I love getting hit.

generally I usually fill the role of field commander and mid/heavy gunner.

I and a buddy work alone together on the field. I Know that that seems like a contradiction but it works. We pick a target or group of targets and then leapfrog from cover to cover really spread apart. We don't talk, we just move when we hear the other one start shooting. That shooting is all the cover fire you need to move six feet to the next tree. We use each move we make to get another angle on the target, so they have no chance to pin both of us down.
We are working as if we are alone... but we are using each other to improve our angles... and we both know it... so we are working alone together.

My game changes, very much like Fergus. Two most common roles is heavy gunner and longballer as I'm usually asked to do this since others can't shoot as well as I. Most of the time I'm usually attracting attention while letting my team do their jobs. It works because the OpFor is trying to figure out where the shots are coming from and I'm using a Hammerhead barrel that is silent downfield but can be herd when players are standing behind me.

Though I'll work just about any role to match what the team needs to overcome OpFor tactics.

I lead the team's Defensive/Reserve element. I also head up Counter-Intelligence and Interrogation duties. I'm also the teams Armor Commander.
I use a Carbine style rifle which allows me to make longer shots but stay compact.
